seems to me that the pump should be advancing more as the engine rpms increase. timing with the timing lights advance control. my timing light doesnt measure advance but it is a good quality older craftsman light(inductive of course). When using an advance timing light, note that average timing is used only for initial or base. Those guys with the dynos can figger out just what the engine likes better than my ear, and the closest drag strip is 60 miles away, makinf that method inconvenient at best.My guess would be that the timing light isn't picking up the probe signals.
